Holidays can be joyful. They can also stressful and upsetting.
It's easy to become distracted. You can end up focusing on matters of the past or thinking ahead to the future.
The holidays will be more peaceful and fulfilling when you stay present.
Here is a meditation exercise to help you.
Get comfortable.
Take 10 deep breaths.
๐ฎโ๐จ
Observe your thoughts.
- Ask yourself, โWhere is my mind right now? What is it focusing on?โ
- Is This Helpful?
- Where Would I Like My Mind to Be?
- Place Your Mind Where You Want It
This technique deliberately takes you out of your normal stream of thoughts to look at your thoughts and actively control them. We donโt normally do this, so it will feel strange, but it is effective.
