Melville Residents' Association: Land Use Portfolio

Dear Melville Community,

It came to our attention that an application for Land Use Consent for a Place of Amusement has in fact been lodged with the council - the dates are not clear and it might well be that the objection period has lapsed, but as there were no notice given and no notice displayed on the premises, proper procedures were not followed.  If you consider objecting, please ensure you apply for condonation for in case the objection is late.

The current application is for the entire Erf 455 Melville, corner of Main Road and 4th Avenue - which includes the whole block of flats and all business premises - this is untenable.

It is for gambling - slots machines, but once these rights are granted, it can easily be converted to any other form of amusement, e.g. night club., etc.

Herewith the motivation of the application which is very standard:

Some sample objections can be found here:

PLEASE feel free to distribute to neighbours and friends - more than one objections can be sent from a household.

Please email objections (using Objection to Consent Use: Erf 544 Melville and Ref 20/01/1224/2019 in the subject line) to
