👋
Hey Mori crew,
Welcome to a new episode of your favourite lab’s monthly newsletter. 😁
Last month was a blast! Very busy like /usual but it seems like we’re getting used to it as we also managed to find the time to organise some of our favourite events! 💪
We organised our best photowalk so far where a little over 40 people took to the streets of Saint-Gilles and Forest with us. We also organised our first black and white developing class in months. Both of these were a huge success so we will be sure to organise more in the (near) future.
In the meantime there are still a couple of spots available for our Black and white printing class this Saturday from 12-5. 😉
We also have a new and very special exhibition up! For this one we partnered up with our good friends at the Enfant Sauvage gallery to bring you the extension of their current exhibition. It features unpublished pictures of three amazing photographers. The expo will be up until mid March so feel free to come and check it out before then!
For the rest we’re expecting a pretty cruisy month this February. The current focus is on repairing and preparing more cameras for the shop. We will also be working hard to keep bringing you the best lab experience ever.
We have actually just finished custom-building a brand new, high performance film dryer for black and white and have a new custom built processor coming our way too (curtesy of our friends at FilmNeverDie). These are much anticipated improvements as we had been running with (almost) the same set-up since we opened but went from having to develop a few dozens to hundreds of black and white films per week.
One last thing! We know film has been very hard to come by. We always try to stay on top of our stock thanks to our many connections in the film world but even for us the past couple of weeks have been though… Unfortunately Kodak said the film shortage we’re currently experiencing will probably not go back to normal before August-September 2022 due to the high demand and low production.
BUT you know we’ve got your back - I received an email this morning that a little over 450 rolls of 35mm Kodak Portra 400 were heading to the lab. 🤷
Take care,
Raph & Cole
