I know we all share a love of animalsāespecially our petsāand saying goodbye is never easy.
This week we lost our beloved āgranddogā Seely. Half Great Pyrenees and half German Shepard, she embodied the best of both breeds. She could āhugā like no dog Iāve ever met. And, while sweet and gentle with the children, she loved nothing more than directing her deep, ferocious bark at squirrels, cars, coyotes, and birds passing overhead.
Sadly, on a very rainy day last week, she jumped out of the ATVāher favorite place to beāand landed wrong. The vet said a predilection for spine issues made the damage too great to come back from. We all loved this dog so much and itās hard to say goodbye, but itās better than watching her suffer.
(The photo is a recent one of Daisy and Seely. Technically, Seely was Daisyās dogāa Christmas āpick-of-the-litterā ten years ago, but we all loved her.)Ā
