Hello, friend,
When was the last time a story swept you away to a fantasy land, brought you back in time, or allowed you to live vicariously through the lives of the characters?
My five-year-old daughter is learning to read. For the last few years, she's been enamored with books. Though she couldn't read the words, she would sit down, thumb through the pages, and make up a story. If someone had read the story to her before, she would do her best to remember the details but make up the rest. And she would "read" the same books over and over.
I, too, have my favorite books that I could read over and over. I love getting lost in a story. Though in the days of raising children, it's difficult to make the time to read unless I'm reading to them.
I love how books encourage our imagination and take us on a journey that few others will experience. Watching my daughter dance through a story brings me joy, knowing she's on a journey that only she knows about.
