I hope you’ve had a great month and managed to spend some time with your friends and family in alfresco pubs/restaurants in albeit rather chilly April conditions!
It was hard to avoid in the news about the football ‘Super League’ coming and well, rapidly disappearing! What a fiasco. What 48 hours of football madness that was?!
Moving back over to the world of technology; some exciting news came out this month with regards to the UK FinTech industry. Following a bit of a torrid year for most businesses in 2020, new figures from Innovate Finance displayed a significant bounce in FinTech funding for Q1 of this year - £2.1 billion (a 331% increase on the same period last year!). It comes as very encouraging news and reflects the increased hiring activity we are beginning to see ourselves within the sector.
We have continued to see a very busy desk of new requirements from old and new clients in the DevOps and Cloud space. We’re also seeing clients trickling back into their offices, gradually!
It, therefore, comes as no surprise that APSCo reported this month that March saw substantial increases in permanent (17%) and contract (23%) vacancies following the easing of lockdown measures. So, it looks as though we have turned a corner, and here’s hoping for continued improvements!
I hope you have had a good April yourself. As always, if you want to talk to me about the market, DevOps trends, etc. do not hesitate to get in touch, it would be great to hear from you. Book a call with me here
Wishing you and your family a happy double bank holiday May!
