The French schools are now officially on a two-month break. In a year where entire families were confined to their homes juggling online assignments and work, these summer holidays are particularly welcome. With the hospitality industry operating at limited capacity, not surprisingly, self-catered accommodation - apartments, camping, cottages (gîtes) and villas – are in high demand this year. The same goes for small boutique hotels offering personalized, uncrowded experiences.
Many international travellers changed their travel plans, deciding to spend this summer in “staycation” mode. Good news! Our tour guide partners are busy booking their 2021 seasons. Don’t wait, now is the time to book that lavender tour, culinary adventure, or painting workshop.
July 14th is La Fête Nationale (Bastille Day), typically includes a day of festivities in Paris and around the country. The day also marks the official start of les grandes vacances in France and with plenty to celebrate as we ease into summer living.
