Grundy County Health Department is working diligently to distribute vaccines according to CDC and IDPH guidelines. Pending the number of vaccines received, it is anticipated that Grundy County may move into Phase 1B by the end of the month. If your business is considered essential, the facility is located in Grundy County, and you’d like to get employees vaccinated, the following is required:
• Contact name, phone number, and email of the person that will be coordinating the vaccine effort for the company.
• Number of vaccines needed. It is strongly encouraged that businesses survey their employees, as not all will want to be vaccinated and the health department needs an accurate count. Employees do not need to be Grundy County residents.
• Can the business provide a registered nurse, on site, to administer the vaccines? Due to the overwhelming need and limited manpower, it is strongly encouraged that businesses arrange for the administration of the vaccine themselves. This will speed up the time in which vaccination can occur.
This contact information is for essential businesses located in Grundy County only. For details on Phase 1B, please refer to the Grundy County Health Department's website.

Many people have asked what is going to happen with Exelon’s Dresden Station. The short answer, it is still uncertain. There is hope that legislation will be passed this spring that allows the Dresden and Byron plants to stay open and continue to produce carbon free energy. Local leaders are working closely with elected officials to support the plants and the skilled men and women that run them. The legislative session ends May 31, at which time the plant’s future will be clear.

Email Fraud -Watch Out!
Please check the email domain before opening an email from the GEDC. We had a few investors that have received a spoofed email from us. Email spoofing is a technique used in spam and phishing attacks to trick users into thinking a message came from a person or entity they either know or can trust.
Even with email security in place, some malicious email messages reach user inboxes. Below are a few tips to avoid becoming a victim of email fraud:
Never click links to access a website where you are asked to authenticate. Always type the official domain in your browser and authenticate directly on the site.
Be suspicious of email supposedly from an official source with bad spelling or grammar.
Avoid opening attachments from suspicious or unknown senders.
