In Luke 4:31–6:16, we read about the authority of Jesus. The people of Nazareth and others in Galilee who heard him wondered by what authority he made his proclamations. Jesus authenticated his authority and his message through miracles and authoritative teaching. As his authority was established he was able to call disciples. This week, as we consider these chapters of Luke, we will face the question: “What authority does Jesus have in your life?” and more crucially, “Are you submitting to that authority?”

Every Sunday we see many faces. Some have been attending for many years, some are much newer to the Rush Creek Community. While it is unrealistic to know everyone who calls Rush Creek their home, there is a way to pray meaningfully for each person, each family over the course of the year. Jim Stringham has provided a Prayer Journal that guides us in prayer for our congregation over the course of the year. If you would like a printed copy of this resource, they are available at the table right outside the Library near the Parkside Entrance.

Last year a number of families had an incredible time hosting a missionary for an evening dinner together with six additional guests from our church. It is a great way to get to know a missionary and to help connect our church family to God’s mission in the world.

Buddy Up at the Children’s Museum - Have a toddler? Need to get out of the house? Enjoy spending time with young children? Join us on Friday, February 11th from 9:00-11:30 am for an adventure at the GR Children’s Museum! Interact and explore with a fun toddler buddy! Buddy Up Bible Time - Three mornings of fun and learning for 1-5-year-olds in need of a special Buddy! Buddies: Sit alongside a toddler as they learn from God’s Word, sing songs, and create special art projects. May 31, June 1, and 2 from 9:00-10:30 am in the RushKids Wing.
