I get it. I’ve been there.
There’s always going to be some other reason why XYZ can’t happen. But if you’ve had the same idea/ goal/ dream in your head for a while and still haven’t taken that first step towards it - what’s stopping you?
I’d hazard a guess underneath whatever reason, or rather, excuse you’re giving - it’s because there’s some kind of fear there.
- “What if I suck at it?”
- “What if no one wants to work with me?”
- “What if I fail at the whole venture?”
If you take a moment and feel into the underlying reasons, it’s probably a fear of failure on some level.
And you know what?
That’s totally OK.
Feel that fear. It’s totally normal.
But at some point you’re going to have to dig deep and muster up all the courage in the world to TAKE THAT FIRST STEP.
You don’t have to have it all figured out yet.
Usually taking the first step and starting gets you into action.
Once you start moving, you’ll find a flow.
Once you’re in a flow, magical things start to happen that you would never have dreamed of. Because you’re connecting the dots with other dots as you’re meeting people along the way.
I was scared to take my first handpan lesson.
- “It’s such a weird, uncool-looking instrument”
- “I don’t have time as it is - how am I going to add one more thing in my schedule?”
