Imad & Julia Shehadeh JETS - Jordan
Imad and Julia serve at Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary in Jordan, where Imad is the Founder, President, and Professor of Theology. The mission statement of JETS is: “Equipping spiritual leaders for planting and strengthening churches in the Arab World." JETS emphasizes sound theological training and mentorship, encouraging its students to return to their respective countries in the region to minister in their own contexts. Read an update from Imad below!
As a family, we are thankfully doing well. Julia and I are approaching celebrating 44 years of marriage (Aug. 11). Though Julia has had quite a bit of health challenges, we are doing well now.
The ministry we have been involved with for 31 years, Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary, is doing well. We are having our 26th graduation on August 17, with 80 graduates at the bachelor's and master's levels, and for the first time, the first doctoral graduate. It is at this time that we hear testimonies of candidates for graduation about how much the training affected their lives. What a joy! Our graduates serve in 21 countries, 12 of which are Arabic-speaking and 9 of which are Western countries with large Arab populations.
We are also proud of our publishing house that averages 4 new books a year, covering subjects that the church in the Middle East desperately needs.
Prayer requests - provision for the students as they return to difficult countries and poor economies, seeking to establish new churches while also trying to make a living
- students to be granted visas to enter Jordan for training- physical comfort for Julia with her health challenges
- praise for their 44th wedding anniversary!
