Hope You Haven’t Melted
How’s It Going?
I hope all is well and that everyone is managing to stay cool and hydrated. Especially if you’re in areas where the heat and humidity continue to reach record highs. Though it's been warm in my neck of the woods, at least the humidity has been tolerable.
Well, until today, that is.
So, as I tried to come up with a title for this newsletter, I thought about heat, which brought to mind, melting. Next thing I know, The Wizard of Oz pops into my head, the scene where Dorothy throws a bucket of water at the burning Scarecrow and some hits the Wicked Witch of the West, causing her to screech, “I’m melting.”
Yeah, I know it was water, not heat, that caused the witch to dissolve into a plume of steam, only leaving behind the remnants of her dress, hat, and broom. But it was a tornado (likely precipitated by hot, humid weather conditions) that prompted the whole technicolor trip over the rainbow.
As far as movies go, The Wizard of Oz is my all-time favorite. I can’t begin to relay the number of times I’ve watched it over the years. Even now, when I run across it while channel-surfing, I’ll stop to watch, especially if it’s one of my favorite scenes. My favorite character is the Tin Man, and though I’m fond of the “There’s No Place Like Home” line, my favorite is “The Heart Is Not Judged By How Much You Love, But How Much You’re Loved By Others.”
Kind of fitting for a romance novelist, huh? I thought so, anyway. 😊
Well, wherever you are, especially if your weather conditions are unbearably hot and humid, remain inside and enjoy one of your favorite movies. Now that you know my all-time favorite, I’d love to hear what yours is.
Then, after watching your movie, check out one of the books I’ve linked below from some of my fellow authors. Stay cool and keep hydrated. And as always – Be Safe. Be Well. And Take Extra Good Care of YOU!!
Thanks for Reading!
