We are all set for our next Supper Club – a Spanish Night - which takes place on Friday 7^th February from 7pm. We have a selection of authentic Spanish dishes, freshly cooked and at only £22 per person for a 3-course meal – we feel it’s incredibly good value especially as you can bring your own alcohol! Places are filling fast, so if you would like to reserve your place or indeed book a table with friends or family then please contact kerry@pipspoundbury.com or pop into the café and speak to the staff who will be able to help you.

Our Community Room is available for booking anytime during the week, including early mornings and later on in the evening. If you need a space to celebrate a birthday, a baby shower, retirement or a simple gathering with family and friends please do enquire about availability. Did you know that it’s also available to book for general meetings, local groups to meet, sports team presentations, charity events or perhaps parents & children meeting for lunch with a bit of room to spread out. Just before Christmas, Debbie our manager loved supporting this year’s Charity Christmas Lights Run which enabled people to walk, jog or run various distances looking at Dorchester’s wonderful Christmas lights along the way! Entrants finished at PiPs where they enjoyed mulled wine, hot chocolates and mince pies and raised money for their chosen charity of Dorset County Hospital.

Digital Champions currently offer a drop-in service within the Community Room for anyone who may need support with operating their smart phone, laptop or iPad. Perhaps you would like to feel more confident using your device or maybe look at using new apps or doing your banking online. Bob, our Digital Volunteer pops in every Thursday from 2pm – 4pm, please do come and see him!

This week was our first session of the year, and we had a look at 3D sculpture.

We learnt how to draw, cut and fold the template, and make the basic body shape. Then imagination took off and there was a bride, a gymnast, a golfer, a karate kid, a dancer, a dragon and lots more!

We had a mini exhibition and admired each other’s work and had a go at drawing our figures too. Amazing work! Many thanks to Art in Poundbury for continuing to fund this brilliant group.

Our next After School Art Club is on Wednesday 29^th January from 4pm – 5pm and we only have a couple of places left, so if you have a child aged 5-10 years who is interested in art and craft, please do drop Kerry at kerry@pipspoundbury.com a line.
