We're back with the most exciting Chatter yet!

From The Chief

Hello Tahosa Lodge,

I would like to preface this with an inquiry:

Are you interested in staffing Peaceful Valley Scout Ranch for 2 weeks, 3 weeks, or the whole summer?

We are in need of some helping hands to be employees at PV. If you are interested at all, contact Will Corcoran, the Camp Director, at will.Corcoran@scouting.org

Thank you for your consideration!

On that note, a little about the Lodge. We will be implementing an Order of the Arrow summer camp night every week at Peaceful Valley and Tahosa this year. So, if you are at camp this summer, feel free to go to one of the OA nights in your OA sash and enjoy a nice OA gathering.

I hope you have a great camping filled summer!

From The Adviser

Summer is Finally Here!  This year is ramping up to be a great one for our lodge. Next month, we will be attending our National Conference in Indiana and with our efforts towards building our OA Service Corps and with our Service to Troops initiative, we are working towards our council’s service expectations.

Our election season has come to a close.  I want to thank all of our chapter advisers and assistants, and Kevin McKernan for their diligence in making this year a success.  We elected over 20% more candidates than last year!   Now, it is our duty to made sure that these scouts and scouters attend their ordeal weekend in August and Septemberand become members of our lodge.

We heard some exciting news last week with the modification of our membership policy. I am happy that our national committee was quick to act and make our order open to young ladies through Scouts BSA, Venturing and Sea Scouts.   Beginning next year, they will be able to be elected into Tahosa Lodge – we look forward to welcoming them as members!

I am looking forward to hearing about everyone’s summer.   Please have fun and please have a safe summer!

Tahosa Lodge at Summer Camp

Our lodge will be hosting an OA night at each of our summer camps this summer and we need you to help support this.  First and foremost, if you are attending summer camp this year, please remember to bring your OA sash with you as you will be expected to wear it during our OA evening.

If you are not attending camp, or wish to help, we are in need of 2-4 OA members to go up each week and help with OA night at our camps.

Camp Dobbins:  We will be hosting the Ice Cream social on Monday evenings beginning on June 11 for 6 weeks.

Camp Dietler:  We will be hosting the Wednesday movie night by serving popcorn and ice cream beginning Jun 13 for 6 weeks.

Tahosa:  We will be hosting Sundae Sunday at Tahosa for 5 weeks beginning on June 17.   This will be happening after opening campfire.

If you would like to help support this, the lodge will pay for your dinner at camp on the night you are helping.

Please send an email to lodgeadviser@tahosalodge.org if you are interested in helping.
