I’ve been thinking about this question for years.
To be specific, since Sunday 19th April 2020.
And I still don’t know the answer.
But I’m getting closer.
The question comes from “Ego is The Enemy” by Ryan Holiday
"Managing your ego is especially important with money. If you don’t know how much you need, the default easily becomes: more."
How much is enough?
Before 2020, I hadn’t even considered this question.
I was rushing through life, on the hunt for MORE.
What else happened in 2020? Lockdown.
The pause led to many reflections.
This question has been in my mind ever since.
I have a better answer for money. And enough is not much.
With that comes a huge amount of freedom. I don't need a six-figure salary to get "enough"
But this question relates to much more than money.
- How much is enough time with family?
- How much is enough space in my home?
- How much is enough love?
Sometimes the answer is more, often it’s less.
This simple question is a surprisingly powerful way to ensure that I have enough.
What is your answer? How much is enough?
