It is a great pleasure to announce that, following almost 7 years with no changes in the lead of our Master Ranking, UN Master João Paulo Peixoto has reached his 1297th NomadMania region at the Isla de la Juventud region in Cuba. Specifically, he is at Cayo Largo, and now claims the first position in the Master Ranking of our 1301 regions.

João Paulo, hailing from Braga in Portugal, has been travelling tirelessly for more than two decades, reaching his final UN country, Israel, in 2011. He has been an integral part of the NomadMania community since 2015, when he was among the passengers of the now infamous Bouvet expedition and is known for his interest in our Series items as well.

Last week with fellow UN Masters Harry Mitsidis and Harris Legome at St Paul’s island off Nova Scotia, Canada.

While travelling around the globe and completing his missing regions, he found the time to join our 5th NomadMania Conference in Fergana, and is surely also going to join our next one in Ouro Preto, Brazil.

Meanwhile, he continues his travels, whether alone or with other travellers or with his extended family of 6 children.

News From Ouro Preto, Brazil 🇧🇷

Last weekend, our managing partner Orest Zub and travel experience manager Pedro Peticov visited Ouro Preto in preparation for the upcoming 6th NomadMania Conference  taking place in Brazil in June next year.

They met with the city’s mayor, Angelo Oswaldo, and liaised with key local tourism stakeholders at Casa da Ópera de Vila Rica, the oldest functioning opera house in Latin America, also one of our venues.

Orest and Pedro spent a packed weekend exploring the city and inspecting local attractions to design the best possible itinerary for our flagship annual event. Check out the background info here.

We’ll be opening sales very soon, in batches. The first invitations will go to our Premium Users followed by NomadManians who have already expressed interest on the event page (web/app).

Please note that space in Ouro Preto is limited, so we highly recommend joining the waitlist now. If all goes as planned, priority registrations will open by the end of September.

Premium Reopening Next Week

We launched the NomadMania Premium Programme last June, and we’re thrilled that over 200 early adopters joined us right from the start. Since then, our tech team has been hard at work, rolling out multiple updates and improvements to make the experience even better.

Stay tuned for our upcoming relaunch — we can’t wait to show you what’s new inside the Premium Programme. Fresh features, exciting updates, and more surprises are just around the corner!

Last Call for Balochistan Tour 🇵🇰

Balochistan remains one of the most difficult regions in the world to access, but we’ve secured exceptionally rare permits to make it possible. This is a true frontier experience - raw, remote, and real. If you're looking to venture where few outsiders ever tread, this is your opportunity.

Designed for explorers seeking truly off-the-beaten-path adventures, this itinerary features untouched beaches, striking national parks, and cultural immersion in one of the least visited parts of Pakistan.

This tour runs in November 2025. See the details and apply here
