SPECIFICALLY; SCOUTING UNITS INCLUDING TROOPS, CREWS, AND SHIPS THAT PLAN AN OVERNIGHT OUTING WITHIN THE STATE OF MICHIGAN LASTING MORE THAN 96 HOURS OR MORE ARE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN A STATE OF MICHIGAN “TROOP TRAVEL” LICENSE. This license requires several compliance items as part of troop planning, safety, preparation and throughout the event.
To assist us in our planning support efforts;
We are asking you to let us know IF YOUR TROOP, CREW OR SHIP IS PLANNING TO CAMP WITHIN THE STATE OF MICHIGAN FOR MORE THAN 96 HOURS OR MORE THIS YEAR (2023) OR IN SUBSEQUENT YEAR(S).
Please complete this short survey and respond by March 31, 2023. The survey should take no more than 2-3 minutes to complete.
As a council, we want to work with your unit leadership to comply with the required and necessary regulations. This is important, as there are compliance and liability concerns that could impact your Scouting unit, chartered organization, and the Michigan Crossroads Council.
Your cooperation and response are appreciated. By working together, we can all comply with these mandatory regulations and ensure a safe Scouting experience for your Scouts and leaders.
