The £2 single fare, which runs until the end of the year, has increased the number of people traveling by bus and we are delighted to let you know that for 2024 there are several new and extended routes for you to take advantage of. These changes will make bus travel to and around Keswick better for all:
77/77A/77C (Honister Rambler)
The service returns this year with a revised timetable, offering new morning/evening links from Cockermouth to Keswick all season long. In addition, the 77C weekend and bank holiday shuttle service between Cockermouth and Buttermere returns during May-August.
78 (Keswick to Seatoller)
The timetable has been amended to offer a later service from Borrowdale to Keswick in the evenings.
509 (Keswick to Penrith)
This is a new service, operating on weekends and bank holidays offering new links from Penrith to Keswick via Lowther Castle, Pooley Bridge, and Aira Force.
X4/X5 (Workington to Keswick)
The frequency of this service between Penrith and Keswick is increased to every 30 minutes, increasing capacity and allowing better connections to trains at Penrith. In addition, there is a later service from Keswick to Penrith in the evening.
553 (Carlisle to Keswick)
Service 73 between Carlisle and Keswick via Caldbeck is renumbered 553 for Summer '24 and coordinated with service 554 to increase the frequency of buses between Carlisle and Keswick on weekends and bank holidays.
554 (Carlisle to Keswick)
An additional return journey will operate Monday to Friday. There is now a later last bus of 1810 from Keswick towards Carlisle on weekends and bank holidays.
555 (Keswick to Lancaster)
Evening services are improved with journeys from Keswick operating until 2125 Monday to Saturday. In addition, there are extra Sunday journeys at busy times including two return trips from Lancaster operating fast via the M6.
