SOUTH POPULATION HEALTH AND PREVENTION FUNDING

Last Chance today 

The South Local Care Partnership has received £184,000 in funding for health inequality work. This funding is for 2023-24 and priority focus will be on short term funding to be spent with the current financial year, which supports test of change/transformation to address inequalities and the project can commence quickly. The fund is open to partners in the locality and LCP with capacity and capability to understand the barriers and challenges people experience. Within the South locality we want to improve the health and wellbeing of the people who are marginalised or who experience the worst heath inequalities.

A webinar will be held 9.30am – 10.30am, 1 November 2023 to provide further information about the funds, process for application and to answer any questions. To book a place please contact the SOUTH AND WEST COMMISSIONING TEAM, NHS DEVON ICB.

The Big Bike Revival Grants Programme

Cycling UK, a national organisation dedicated to supporting cyclists and supporting bike use. Grants are available for voluntary groups, social enterprises, and other not-for-profit organisations to deliver cycling projects and activities across England for people who do not normally cycle.

The fund will support events and activities that use the ‘fix-learn-ride’ model to provide sessions on fixing unused or broken bikes, learning sessions such as maintenance workshops or cycle training/upskilling, or offering low milage-led rides on local routes to build up the confidence of participants.

Grants of up to £2,500 are available for the Winter 2023-24 funding round.

The next deadline for applications is 15 December 2023.

Unrestricted grants are available for community and voluntary sports groups across the UK and Ireland, delivering activities for a social purpose to under-represented communities. eg, targeting communities facing disadvantage, engaging people from under-represented groups, or addressing local issues such as crime and anti-social behaviour.

This year's focus is on community sports clubs and organisations who are in need due to the impact of the pandemic and the cost of living crisis and may be threatened with closure.

The funding aims to support the sustainability of local sports clubs, thereby ensuring more people have access to local sports.

Applications are accepted from not-for-profit organisations, including charities, community groups and traditional sports clubs.

There is a funding pot of £200,000 for 2023. Unrestricted grants of £2,000 are available. The funding should be spent within a six-month period.

The deadline for applications is 31 December 2023. Applicants should hear by 17 January 2024

The McCarthy Stone Foundation

The Foundation aims to deliver a grants programme, longer-term charity partnerships and volunteering opportunities. Providing help in 3 key areas: community grants, project support and volunteering.

The funding themes of the Foundations are:

• Providing connection and purpose for older people.
• Building intergenerational relationships to bring young and old together.
• Regenerating community spaces that enable connection and engagement for older people.

Open now for applications is the Christmas Connections 2023 programme which aims to support community organisations to connect people over 65 years old over the festive period.

Grants up to £1,000 for Community Groups, Registered Charities and Community Interest Companies with annual income less than £250,000.

Activities need to take place between the 1^st December 2023 – 2^nd January 2024

The Dying Matters Community Grants Programme

Will fund new and creative ways to spark those important conversations in communities across the UK.

The grant programme focusses on working with people who we know are least likely to have already had access to existing models of support.

This programme is open to hospices, but the funder expects applications to be submitted in partnership with other local groups/community organisations. Evidence of this partnership will need to be included in your application, with details of how the community partner will help you to reach your target audience. Lead applicant must be a hospice based in the UK and a member of Hospice UK.

Examples could include:

• theatre production
• exhibition
• community mural.
• public art display
• comedy nights
• workshops and courses

Applications for the programme are now open up until 24th November 2023

Applicants will be informed whether or not they have been successful by end January 2024.

On 15 November 2023 National Lottery Awards for All is changing. From then, you’ll be able to:

• apply for up to £20,000

• get your project funded for up to two years.

You can still only hold one National Lottery Awards for All grant at a time. This means if you apply for up to £10,000 before 15 November you would not be able to apply for more funding until your project is complete. You will not be able to ask for top-ups.

If you would like to ask for more than £10,000 and less than £20,000 then you should wait until 15 November to apply. The time it takes to assess and pay successful applicants is still 16 weeks.

Lloyds Bank Foundation

Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales' new funding programme offers three-year unrestricted grants of £75,000 with tailored development support aimed at helping to strengthen charities and build the knowledge, skills and capabilities of staff and trustees.

In addition, grants of up to £500 are available for groups who need accessibility support to apply for this programme. The grant will help fund the cost of support, such as a scribe or BSL interpreter.

The funding is for small, local, specialist charities with an annual income of between £25,000 and £500,000 who are providing in-depth services in one of the following eight themes:

• Addiction
• Asylum Seekers and Refugees
• Care Leavers
• Domestic Abuse
• Homelessness
• Offending
• Sexual Abuse and Exploitation
• Trafficking and Modern Slavery

Applications open from 10 am on 1 November 2023.

Warburtons financial giving programme is aimed at supporting projects, activities and organisations.

Supporting organisations that focus on solving significant social issues, as defined through their Financial Giving Policy. Current the policy aims to supporting projects, activities and organisations that have charitable aims and have real and direct benefit to families. With a particular focus on health, skills and place.

Community Grants of £400 with the potential to be invited for larger grants of £3,000 and up to £20,000 for Registered Charities and CICs within 15 miles of their bakery or depot site

Quarterly deadlines in November, February, May and August

Devon HAF Fund

Apply for a £500 grant through Magic Little Grants.

Funding can be used to launch new projects, support existing ones, or cover core costs associated with ongoing work.The fund supports a range of charities & community groups working in mental wellbeing, physical activity, the environment, arts, and much more.

Apply by 31 October 

The Devon Police and Crime Commissioners’

applications of up to £10,000 for projects aimed at reducing crime and supporting victims. The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Wednesday 8th November 2023. Guidance can be found on DCF’s PCC Grants Page which provides full details of the objectives of the fund, the eligibility criteria, details on the application process, and the online application form.

The fund is looking to support projects that:

• Reducing violence
• Tackling anti-social behaviour
• Tackling or mitigating drug use
• Supporting victims of crime

In particular, the PCC are keen that this funding round provides support to such organisations that are struggling with cost of living increases and will prioritise applications that are:

• Led by or working with minoritised people and communities
• Working in rural or coastal communities
