As autumn approaches, we’re starting to look forward to our autumn/winter programme of events here at PiPs, with our first supper club of the season on the 14^th October and a wonderful book reading and refreshments with stellar author Joanna Nadin on the 7^th October. We also have a wonderful fundraiser in aid of the Alcohol Education Trust and Weymouth based Lantern Trust on the 4^th November, being co-hosted by The Duchess of Cornwall, and we really hope you will come to that! We have a save the date of October 30^th for a Halloween family fun afternoon here and are excited to be starting a new Creative Clay for all over the next few months. We have waved goodbye to Music at the Pavilion for this summer but look forward to holding a Christmas edition with some great songs and carols for the whole community to enjoy!

Book Reading and tea - 7^th October

This is a wonderful opportunity for our younger community to meet with a famous author, enjoy a full tea and hear Joanne Nadin read from her latest edition of The Worst Class in the World! Joanna Nadin is an award-winning writer and will be here at PiPs on Friday 7th October from 3.30 - 5pm. Children can chat with her and listen to her read from the latestt book. As a very successful author, we are very lucky to have her here with us. Tickets must be purchased in advance, £5 per child to include tea (veggie option available) and children must be accompanied by an adult. Adults can order from the café as usual. French Bistro Night - 14^th October

After such a great response last year, we are bringing back our Supper Clubs for the winter months! Starting on 14th October with a French Bistro Night, these evenings are relaxed and sociable with delicious food cooked by professional caterer Rosemary Rogers. If you would like to book a table, please contact lucy@pipspoundbury.com or you can pop in the café or ring 01305 259142. We require a £5 per head non-refundable deposit on all bookings. At just £18 per head this is a great value evening out, and you are welcome to bring your own wine or alcoholic drinks. We do advise booking quickly as these evenings are very popular and we can only accommodate 34 guests!

After School Art

We are delighted to be bringing back our after school art club after the summer break on Tuesday 4th October 4 - 5pm! Children must be accompanied by an adult and can enjoy making, creating and painting led by the fabulous Mrs Scott and Mrs Goldsack. These sessions are always fully booked and great fun, so if you would like a place for you and your child then please email lucy@pipspoundbury.com Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Thanks go to Art Society Dorset for sponsoring these sessions.

Adelle’s Fundraiser

Our lovely cafe manager Adelle has teamed up with Karl from the Duchess of Cornwall to create a charity fundraising night on Friday 4th November to be held at The Duchess of Cornwall. For a ticket price of £27 you can expect a welcome drink, 2 course meal and a magician! There will be a raffle and auction of promises on the night, please do let us know if you would like to donate a prize or promise (email adelle@pipspoundbury.com ). Proceeds from this event will be shared between The Alcohol Education Trust and The Lantern Trust. Music at the Pavilion

We were so delighted with the success of our last Music at the Pavilion in early September with over 100 attendees. The wonderful Bruno Greenfield played for us, and then PUG (Puddletown Ukulele Group) saw us out in style. We hope to bring these sessions back for next summer, giving the local community an opportunity to enjoy some great local music as well as enjoy a social catch up with friends.

Poundbury Community Farm

One of our neighbours here on Poundbury is the community farm, which has bees, geese, chickens, an orchard and a poly tunnel producing delicious vegetables. Michelle and volunteers have been hosting a produce stall and raising awareness about how to take part – just volunteer and take produce home – here over the last couple of weekends.

We do thank everyone for their support and custom. Please do continue to come as the nights draw in as we will need you to keep the lights on! Don’t forget, as ever, we have our lovely book swap as well as cards and crafts for donations.
