With a nod to the anniversary of Nuit blanche and the 10th anniversary of the PHI Centre celebrated last year, 10+10 is a not-to-be-missed event with an array of immersive experiences and musical and sound performances. The PHI Centre is offering two programmes for this edition: an entirely free programme and a ticketed nocturnal programme until the early hours of the morning.
Free programming
On a first-come, first-served basis, PHI will host several artists from 9 PM to 2:30 AM: Mollygum, Mugzy & Maam, Rick Farin & Actual Objects Live A/V, Eric Cheung and June Barry. From electro to hybrid puppet theatre revisited, to visual effects generated by artificial intelligence, to contemporary street dance or a performative installation exploring light and sound, there is something for everyone.
The three immersive experiences at the PHI Centre will also be free between 9 PM and 2:30 AM. The public will be able to escape and explore the Last minute installation, which combines sound and image, Habitat Sonore for a complete sound immersion and Horizons VR (open until midnight only) to discover works in virtual reality. Reservations are required for our immersive experiences.
Nocturnal programming
For the first time, the PHI Centre will remain open until 6 AM for Nuit blanche. The ticket holders will have access to exclusive programming between 2:30 and 6 AM that includes: an art installation, a selection of live music, and access to the three PHI Centre experiences (Habitat Sonore, Last minute and Horizons VR), which also includes access to bar service.
Christopher Edmondson will present his Ivy Boxall project, which ranges from contemporary classical to jazz, free improvisation and folk music. N10.as will also play soft atmospheres of Good Sine's ambient drone with IRL, teotwawki, No Cosmos and Holobody. At the same time, Eric Cheung will explore the limits and different mediums of contemporary street dance. Finally, June Barry will present a light, sound and video art installation.
Please visit phi.ca to purchase tickets for the late-night program or reserve a spot for the immersive experiences.
