After being uninspired for much of my career in corporate America, I pivoted to the nonprofit sector accepting a huge pay cut in the hope of feeling more fulfilled at work.
For many reasons I won’t bemoan, it wasn’t long before I began doubting the wisdom of my choice, so I started the process of trying to reverse it. I wanted corporate America to take me back.
Because I was pursuing a lateral position I was highly qualified for, I thought it would be easy. I was wrong.
Instead of getting offers, I was getting rejected, and sometimes, ghosted.
