Rebecca is one of my favorite books. Daphne Du Maurierās writing is lush and haunting. Always atmospheric, and frequently terrifying. Jamaica Inn is also highly rated, so I chose it for one of my summer reads. I have to confess, the title made me think the setting was tropical. (If youāve read the book, you are right now laughing out loud. š) No, my friend, Jamaica Inn is a gothic mystery with romance elements set on the bleak moors of Cornwall. In winter.
