Melville Residents' Association

Dear Residents of Melville,

The New Year is underway with some relief from some Level 3 lockdown regulations, with its own bright spots and challenges, and the Committee would like to wish you all the best for the new year. We would also like to share the passing of Melvin Jacobie, from Pikitup, who passed away from Covid in January. Melvin worked in Melville for many years through Pikitup and took pride in his work. Our thoughts and condolences are with Melvin’s family.

Thanks to everyone who responded to the Committee’s survey about the important directions of Melville and how the MRA committee can help guide residents in keeping Melville a safe, happy, vibey place. Overall, we received over 100 responses and useful feedback. We will provide more detailed feedback around the survey results in an upcoming newsletter. If you are keen to get involved in any of the portfolios, please contact the Committee at mra@ilovemelville.co.za.

The Committee will continue to converse with the community via ILM.Live (watch this space, time & days are yet TBD ) and participation from residents is most welcomed. Residents from all over Melville have different perspectives and insights, which when combined can keep Melville on the rise. Monthly meetings will begin again in February, the second week of each month from 18h30-19h30. Please submit any items that you would like added to the agenda to mra@ilovemelville.co.za. A link to join the meeting will be sent out via various communication channels the Thursday beforehand.

The first upcoming meeting will be held online at 18h00 on TUESDAY 9th February. We hope that you are all keeping well and remaining healthy. May 2021 be kinder and healthier than 2020.

All the best,

MRA Executive Committee
