Jump on the Bitmoji Train

Hello, everyone!
I decided to redesign my monthly newsletter and create something which you can use from top to bottom - the newsletters are going to be full of teaching tips and Bitmojis!

All the things I did in the last 2 months

The last two months have been really hectic!

I had a very big professional development program in one of the most modern schools in Serbia and I organized a Harry Potter STEM escape room. After that, I went to Greece on a conference where I represented ELTA, with the topic of Building ELF/ESL Students' Literacy and Confidence through Drama. Greece was AMAZING! 💙

When all of that was over, the quarantine started and with it, all of my distance learning training.

As you know, I have been teaching online for 7 years now and in the meantime, I even became a Head of Languages in B.Y.Mafit, IELTS center from Nigeria.

I hosted 3 trainings in Serbian during this time (3 of them depicted via the badges above) and started new digital competency research.  The trainings were supported by ELTA, English Language Teacher Association of Serbia. The trainings were connected to distance learning, content creation, and formative assessment.

The fourth training was for tutors on Preply on how to teach young learners and I was even selected among 4000+ teachers on Preply to teach public webinars for children!

Finally, I completed two trainings and became an Edmodo Certified Trainer and a Genial.ly ambassador.

I hope to work less on teacher trainings when all of this is over and create more FREE materials for you!

Watercolor inspired alphabet flashcards

Alphabet flashcards are a staple in every teachers' toolkit, but they are becoming dull.

To shift from all the distance learning and make you feel like you are in the classroom again, I made these watercolors alphabet flashcards with UNUSUAL animals.

Who says that N is for NOSE? Why can't it be NARHWALS?!

Monthly freebie post with free storytelling websites

Books for children can be expensive nowadays, and the libraries in schools can be quite small, especially when it comes to books in English.

I encourage all teachers to use these free resources and help develop little readers – open their doors to another world and be their guide on the reading journey.

This is so great that I've spent hours listening to the stories and just enjoying myself this evening! And I've only visited the first two links! And now I can't stop developing some ideas for my classes using these books! Nor do I wish to! That's how excited I got! And I'm sure my students will love them too! Thanks again for everything I've learned from you during this Corona time... This is a real treasure and I had no idea that sites like these could be used for free! Thanks again for sharing 👏

I hope you are doing well and that you have adapted to teaching online. I have been doing the distance learning 'thing' for 7 years now and I am still learning.

I am saying this to tell you not to worry - nothing can be learned in a day and do not try to control everything. Enjoy with your students and family and STAY HEALTHY!

Yours trully,
Alice
