KALPA’s main galleries are located in the heart of the magical setting of Volterra. Lying on a hilltop 500 meters above sea level, this Etruscan town is a place of authentic beauty with its culture rooted in its history all sit in harmony with the surrounding countryside.

For three thousand years Volterra has stood magnificent, majestic, haughty. This year the town is to be awarded the title First Tuscan City of Culture. Indeed it is like an open air museum, peppered with many places of interest, cultural initiatives and exhibitions.

To the visitor Volterra presents a natural charm, within its astonishing landscape and historical gems, notably the unique Etruscan Guarnacci Museum, the ongoing archeological campaign investing the new Roman Amphitheatre - the “archeological discovery of the century”, the famous Deposizione by the master of Mannerism Rosso Fiorentino (1521), the traditional alabaster artisan workshops, and the experimental research activities in the fields of contemporary art and theatre.
