Dear friend,

It's a new week.  We're so glad you're here!

BlackHer Shero of the Week

Our BlackHer Shero of the Week is Doris Browne, MD, MPH, president and CEO of Browne and Associates, LLC.

Browne served as the 118th president of the National Medical Association, the largest and oldest national organization representing African American physicians and their patients in the United States.

Because of her work as a doctor, she acutely understands the link between the prevalence of cancers and other illnesses in Black people and climate change.

That's why she's now a vocal advocate for climate justice.

Citizens across the country will have the opportunity to demonstrate their power by VOTING on November 5th! There is a lot at stake.  For example, voters in Kentucky, Louisiana, and Mississippi are electing governors.

#VOTEPROCHOICE is here to help.

They have compiled information on all federal and down-ballot races in 50 states + DC.

You know what to do.  Check out the guide, gather your girls, and go VOTE!

We're closely watching BlackHer Shero Jennifer Riley Collins' push to become the first Black woman attorney general in Mississippi.

If she wins, she'll also be the first Black person to serve in statewide office since Reconstruction, because Mississippi's state constitution is corrupt! (But that's another story.)

Learn more about her desire to protect and fight for ALL Mississippians.

You already know that Black women are some of the most industrious, talented, and powerful people on this planet.

We can't think of a BlackHer Shero who is more emblematic of this truth and deserving of our honor, than Harriet Tubman.  Her motto was "Live free or die."

Have you seen her new movie yet?

Check out the preview, grab your ticket, and let us know your thoughts!

Never ask permission to save your own life.

Girl Trek has been paying homage to Harriet Tubman since 2013.  They've organized over 300,000 women to walk for health and freedom.

Check out their new 30-day Blueprint and get walking for a healthier body, family, and community.
