Dear USET/USET SPF Family,
The USET Tribal Epidemiology Center (TEC) would like to pass along information regarding two new opportunities to help keep Tribal Nations protected during the COVID-19 pandemic.
At-Home Rapid COVID-19 Test
The federal government has announced that four free home COVID-19 tests are available to each valid residential address. To get your home tests please go to: COVIDtests.gov
Please note that the USET TEC recently issued guidance (link) to Tribal Nations regarding home testing strategies as well as other public health measures (link). The full email can be found here.
N-95 Masks
The White House has announced plans to make 400 million high-quality masks available to all Americans for free. The USET TEC strongly urges Tribal Nations and households to take advantage of this opportunity so that Tribal Communities may receive the highest possible protection.
- The IHS Nashville Area Office (NAO) has allocated N95’s to each Tribal Nation. If you have not yet made arrangements for receipt of these masks, please contact Dr. Juantina Johnson Juantina.Johnson@ihs.gov.
- Additional masks are also available for Tribal Nation health departments to order through the IHS National Supply Service Center (NSSC).
- Masks will also be available for the public to pick up at tens of thousands of local pharmacies and thousands of community health center sites across the country as soon as late next week. The program will be fully up and running by early February.
As always, do not hesitate to reach out should you need any assistance at usetepi@usetinc.org.
