Building is a term the Wayne County School’s Career Center (WCSCC) is quite familiar with since opening their doors in 1969. Not just in the sense of the countless construction projects completed over the years as they’ve grown, but also in the sense of who they are. Not only are they building a solid foundation for their student’s futures; the WCSCC is building for a better tomorrow.
Serving approximately 850 eleventh and twelfth grade students, the WCSCC has plans underway to construct a new Welding lab, and then to remodel the existing Welding lab for the Industrial Electronics program, and finally, to remodel the existing Industrial Electronics’ space for the new Cyber Security/IT Systems program.
Featuring 25 two-year technical education programs and two one-year senior-only programs, the WCSCC has an advisory board for each one. “Our advisory boards are instrumental in assisting us with our programs,” said Lynn Moomaw, director of operations/adult education. “Everything from curriculum to designing our labs.”
