I’m a plug in and go kind of girl. Technical challenges try my patience and wreck my schedule. Plus, change is never my go-to option. I resist. Like where my super slow, unreliable Wi-Fi has been concerned. But my local server finally broke me, and I ordered a StarLink satellite. Unfortunately, the hoop-jumping required to set up this new system was not as simple as promised, so I’m two days behind on everything, including my newsletter, but here it is.

As promised, here are some pics from our anniversay coastal getaway. We returned to a familiar RV park in Morro Bay and also explored some nearby spots for future visits.

After setting up camp, we walked the beach at sunset and took this video. It’s the first time I spotted horses on this beach. Very cool.

The next morning, Morro Bay was socked-in with fog, so we jumped in our “toad” (tow-car) and sped south toward San Luis Obispo and the beach town of Avila Beach. We’d heard good things about a new RV park there. We checked it out and enjoyed a wonderful day exploring the wharf, the harbor seals, the adorable little seaside town and shops. And even enjoyed a picnic on the nearly empty beach!

Unfortunately, the fog lingered the next morning but we put on our walking shoes and started racking up some serious steps.😉

Our final morning dawned clear and beautiful, of course.

We’d heard about a big storm between the mainland and Hawaii, so we walked as far around the base of Morro Rock as possible to witness the scary, powerful waves crashing over the barrier that protects the bay. Truly amazing, both loud and beautiful.

I can’t believe it’s November, already. Paul and I are headed to “Wings and Warbirds Car Show” in Paso Robles this weekend, so I should have some fun pics to share in my next newsletter.

Writing-wise, I’m hard at work on VALENTINE ZONE: Book 4 in my Secondhand Hearts series. I do love the reunion/second-chance romance trope, and the hero and heroine in this book definitely fit in the Later-in-Life trope, too. I think you’re going to love them—I already do.

Before Ellie could ask Becca what was bothering her, the door opened again, and Max walked in. Although he’d said something about dropping by later, Josie hadn’t expected him this early. Must’ve been a pretty short and uneventful date.
  Not that it was any of her business. She’d been called nosey in the past, but she’d learned there were some things you didn’t want to know so it was better not to ask. “Oh, hey, Max, you’re back. How was your date?”
  Josie made a face, upset with herself.
  Becca gave her a surprised look. Had her tone given something away, like the fact she’d been fretting about Max’s date all day?
  “Wonderful. Amber and I have a great relationship. I give her anything she wants and let her get away with murder, and she loves me with all her heart.”
  Josie’s heart plopped into the steaming cauldron of spicy soup until he added, “But when her pants need changing, I give her back to her mother.”
  “Her pants?”
  Becca grinned as if reading Josie’s relief.
  “My son and his wife take a Pilates class or something on Wednesday evenings. I don’t like to think of myself as a babysitter, so I call my time with Amber a ‘date.'"
  Josie’s heart, which had returned to her chest cavity, was making a terrible racket. She didn’t understand why. So he was unlike any man she’d ever dated—and there was a long list of them. Still, he was off-limits, and she needed to remember that.
