Imagination Library

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program is now available to all of Mercer County children ages 5 years old and younger. Children will receive a free book in the mail up until the child's fifth birthday! You can register and simply type in your zip code or stop by your local library for a paper registration to mail in.

A special thanks to Midwest Electric for sponsoring the Mercer County Imagination Library program.

New and improved! - Grant Funds

The library recently received two grants through the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. These funds will be put to use to provide better access and service for our patrons at all locations. Here is a brief overview of the different items that will be coming to our four locations:

  • Additional hotpots - All Locations
  • Computer tech lounge - Main Location
  • 24 access book locker system - Mendon Branch
  • Touchless entry - Marion Branch
  • Task chairs & book carts - St. Henry
  • Touchless water fountain/bottle filler - Main, Marion, St. Henry
  • Touchless faucets, paper towel and soap dispensers, and light switches - Marion, St. Henry, Mendon

Celina Library Events

Fall Book Sale

Our Fall Book Sale will run from October 5-10th during normal library hours in the Book Barn just north of the library by the Marilyn Frahm Memorial Park. Five people will be able to browse the book barn at one time. Dollar bag day is Saturday!

Grab & Go Crafts

Crafts will be first come first serve and no registration is necessary. Just stop in the library or use our curbside pickup to grab one.

  • Adults: Toilet Paper Pumpkin Craft - Pick up the week of October 5th
  • Children 0-5 years old: Halloween Craft - Pick up the week of October 26th
  • Children 6-10 years old: Halloween Craft - Pick up the week of October 26th

Rooster storytime is every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 10:30 am with Ms.Amy and Ms.Bink. Storytime will be outside if weather permits. On Thursdays, storytimes will be live on Facebook. You can find past storytimes on our YouTube channel.

Marion (Chickasaw) Branch Events

Calling all ghosts, witches, monsters and bats, stop into the library for a family make and take Halloween craft bag the week of October 12th.  No tricks, no registration but a treat is included, just stop in.  Supplies available while they last.

Outside Story Hour will be held every Thursday with Ms. Juli at 10:30 am as long as weather permits.

Mendon Branch Events

Tuesday, October 13th at 4 pm: Outdoor book discussion of Close Enough to Touch by Colleen Oakley. Please bring your own lawn chair.

Fall Book Sale

We are hosting a Fall Book Sale October 5-10th during normal library hours. You may browse the sale by appointment only. Call or stop in to schedule a time.

Grab & Go Crafts

Monday, October 12th: Little Kids Grab & Go Craft - Halloween Picture Frame Magnet. Register online beginning October 5th.
Monday, October 12th: Kids Grab & Go Craft - Halloween Lacing Puppet Craft. Register online beginning October 5th.
There is no fee for the kids crafts.
Monday, October 28th
: Adult & Teen Grab Bag - DIY Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub. Register online beginning October 19th. There is a $3 registration fee (pay when you pick up your bag)

  • Census - Don't forget to fill out your 2020 Census if you haven't already. It takes approximately 10 minutes.
  • Unemployment - File for unemployment here or file weekly claims.
  • Vote - Register to vote or update your address. The deadline is October 5th.
