The 2024 Annual Report for Seaside Sustainability has finally arrived and you can read it now! 2024 was a great year for Seaside Sustainability filled with growth, new partnerships, collaborations, and impact locally and globally! We greatly appreciate your support and generosity as we continue to make waves. Together we have accomplished
much, and our shared future looks bright!

Rockport Music presents Ocean Music Action, an organization that presents carefully curated concerts centered around the shared love of the ocean, on World Water Day, Saturday, March 22, 2025. 

Each concert is paired with a volunteer activity in partnership with a local conservation organization. Ocean Music Action is excited to partner with Seaside Sustainability for a cleanup at Front and Back Beaches following their 11 am performance. 

In their “Dear Ocean” program, performers Kinan Azmeh, clarinet; Layale Chaker, violin, and vocals; Megan Conley, harp; Shawn Conley, bass; and Shane Shanahan, percussion will perform a program inspired by their shared connection to the ocean, featuring a premiere of a new piece by Chaker. 

Come hear the concert at 11 am, and then build community with the musicians and fellow audience members through the volunteer cleanup activity with Seaside Sustainability at 1 pm.

Exciting news, educators and school leaders! We’re thrilled to introduce out Sustainability Survey, aimed at measuring your school’s current environmental impact and assessing its readiness to implement new sustainable policies. This is your chance to play a key role in shaping a greener future for your students and school community! Together, we can take steps towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly school environment. 

Join the Stone Living Lab for their Stone Living Lab Summer Teacher Institute! This free, five-day course brings Boston area teachers together to explore Boston Harbor through the lens of climate change, place-based learning, and participatory science. You can learn from local experts about climate resilience work happening in and around Boston; discover opportunities to bring students to the coast; and learn how participatory science can bring authentic scientific experiences to the classroom. Don't wait too long, as the application deadline is Friday, March 21!

Zine Grechniw is a senior at The University of South Carolina. Zina started at Seaside Sustainability in October and she is the Department Manager over Operations, Analytics, & Platform Management in Marketing. She researches and coordinates strategies to improve the analytics and impact of the teams marketing campaigns. Zina strives to continue spreading awareness of Seaside's mission in order to create a positive impact on the environment!
