Time for tough decisions

On Monday 16th March 2020 we announced that, as a precautionary measure, Mother City SkyDiving would be temporarily suspending drop zone operations in light of the unfolding Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

With the unavoidable close proximity involved in taking members of the public on a tandem skydive, coupled with the fact we operate in a hot spot for international visitors, we feel it our duty to do the right thing towards reducing the impact of this global crisis at this critical time.

We feel that we must all take individual action to reduce Covid-19 transmissions, to slow down its spread, to limit the number of infections and to reduce pressure on the health system so that everyone who needs medical care can get it.

Starting now, and for the duration of this epidemic, we all have a role to play and a responsibility to modify our behaviour in order to protect those who are most at risk.

You will be pleased to hear that the Mother City SkyDiving crew, who we esteem so highly, are all fit & healthy and safe & happy at their respective homes, and are all following the advice and guidelines provided by governments and health care professionals globally.  As a result, we will all be well-rested and ready to carry on skydiving once the dust has settled.

For now, all bookings are on hold.

This is a serious decision and we are mindful of the economic impact it will have on our drop zone and crew, as well as the disappointment it may cause for adventure seekers in Cape Town at this time… but it is the right thing to do and the safety and wellbeing of our crew and visitors is paramount.

This crazy time will pass and adventure tourism will flourish in Cape Town again soon.

We know we can count on your support now, and when we announce the re-commencement of operations again soon.

Thank you for your understanding, we wish you all well at this difficult time.

Our thoughts go out to those health care workers around the world, especially those on the front lines.

Blue Skies Always….

Best Regards
