Dear Parents,

We are excited to embark on this new learning adventure with you.  We understand that it will be a challenge for families and students as much as it is for teachers but we are here to support and encourage you every step of the way.

The governor has mandated that even though students are not on campus they must continue with their education.  We will provide a good faith effort to supply instruction for continued academic growth.  This support will be provided beginning on March 30 and continue through April 17. If at that time, the governor extends school closure through the end of the school year we will support you .

Parents are expected to also provide a good faith effort with the instruction provided. We acknowledge that this will not be easy.  Please feel free to reach out for help.

Please enjoy your spring break. More guidance and information will be provided at the end of next week.  Stay Tuned.

Please send first day pictures, we are here with you.  We miss your children!

You Can Be a Hero

Anne Frank

Anne Frank was a young girl who lived during a very difficult time.  Her journaling allows us to better understand what it was like to be a Jewish girl during a time when her people were being persecuted.  Click on her photo to learn more about her.

Check out the video above to tour the home where Anne Frank stayed while in hiding.

Journaling helped Anne cope with the stress her family was living under.  Have you tried keeping a journal?  There are many types of journals that could be fun to keep during this time of uncertainty.

Heroes are recognized when they do something to help someone else.  What can you do to help others?  Even in isolation, can you make someone smile?  Can you help someone in your family?  Someone in your neighborhood?

  • Send an email telling someone you are thinking of them.
  • Decorate your windows to make your neighbors smile.
  • Clean your house
  • Write a note to someone in your family to tell them you love them.
  • Decorate your driveway or sidewalk with side walk chalk to make someone smile.

We can't wait to see what you come up with!

We are hearing that there are a shortage of supplies for our medical professionals and health care providers.  Click the directions above to find a website detailing how you could make a mask.  Can you reach out to local organizations to find out if they are accepting mask donations?

Recipe of the Day

Pizza Quesadillas

Here's a recipe kids can make with the help of an adult.

Pizza Quesadillas

    • 1 tortilla
    • 2 Tablespoons marinara or pizza sauce
    • 1/4 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
    • Optional additional ingredients: grated Parmesan cheese, sliced pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, sausage, or any other pizza toppings of your choice
    • For dipping: warm marinara sauce

  1. Preheat a flat griddle or a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Spread marinara sauce on half of the tortilla.
  3. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese, and any other toppings of your choice.
  4. Add another layer of mozzarella over toppings.
  5. Fold tortilla over.
  6. Spray griddle with cooking spray and cook quesadilla for 2-3 minutes per side, or until browned.
  7. Remove to a cutting board and allow the quesadilla to cool for a few minutes.
  8. Cut into triangles and serve.

I Am A Child

I am a child,
All the world waits for my coming
All the earth watches with interest
To see what I shall become.
The future hangs in the balance,
For what I am
The world of tomorrow will be.

I am a child,
I have come into your world
about which I know nothing.
Why I came I know not.
How I came I know not.
I am curious
I am interested.

I am a child,
You hold in your hand my destiny.
You determine, largely,
whether I shall succeed or fail.
Give me, I pray you,
Those things that make for happiness.
Train me, I beg you,
That I may be a blessing to the world.
