There’s still a “vibe” here but everything’s… different.
I’m still finding a new rhythm for everything from my commute to meal planning, finding gyms and yoga studios, and making all these daily micro-decisions all while transitioning between old and new homes.
It’s exhausting.
The main lesson that’s come out of all of this: Mindful Self-Compassion.
Treating myself with the same gentle kindness and understanding I would offer to a good friend… and also maintaining an awareness of my thoughts and emotions without judgment. (Stanford University even has a Centre for Compassion & Altruisum. Scientific benefits of self-compassion here)
This has helped me reduce the self-criticism and self-judgment when there’s been no time for everything from going to the gym to recording and uploading another YouTube video or meditation.
Not everything will be done in one day, and that’s OK.
If you’re going through a season of change and transitions and struggling to “keep up”, perhaps keeping focus on just that ONE THING that supports your wellbeing can be helpful.
