Welcome to video 4 of my new series on "Stories that Unite During Dark Times".
If you missed the first three videos, here they are:
Week 1: The Stories of the Pandemic
Week 2: The Rooted World of Fairy Tales
Week 3: The Invention that Changed the World of Storytelling
This week, I'm putting together a lot of the underlying ideas that I've been presenting to you through another image. This image is one described by the wonderful Wendell Berry in an essay called "How to Make Local Culture."
In it, he describes a simple metal bucket collecting nature's leavings, and how a magical transformation occurs inside that bucket that leads to the best and most fruitful kind of soil for planting.
That, as well as the image of the Russian nesting doll, offer me a chance to better explain what I hope you will feel empowered to do after this video series.
