The month of July was certainly a warm month!!!! No, don’t get me wrong ….. it was freezing cold outside some days. However, at Child Welfare Germiston and the hearts and lives of our beneficiaries it was warm and comfy. This warmth was generated by the love, generosity and mindfulness of so many individuals, small businesses and companies who amidst their own limitations still reach out to us and show that they care.

Donations of blankets, baby and children’s jerseys, clothes and groceries for our pantry continued coming in. Thank you to each and every person that has reached out to touch the life of another child and family that we provide services too.

We couldn’t celebrate Mandela Day the way we have been doing it in the past, but this did not prevent getting support from all over. Thanks to donations received for our Mandela Day Food Drive, we were able to order and purchase 10 pre-packed food parcels to assist families in need….. The month ended off with the team from Enterprise Foods - Germiston delivering 50 food hampers for distribution to our most needy families. Our appreciation and gratitude has no ending…..

The month of July also saw us being able to do urgently needed electrical repairs and maintenance to our buildings – once again thanks to the generous support from one of our valued and trusted Corporate Donors.

However the best is yet to come ……. It didn’t end there ….. 😊 BUT you will have to wait for the August Newsletter to read more about how corporate involvement supports our children.

As we surpassed the 500 day lockdown mark, the need amongst our children and families is becoming more and more prevalent and visible in the number of reported matters of child neglect. As long as there is a need – we will make every effort to provide support and assist with the resources and available to us.

Thank you for being our support and ensuring we are able to continue protecting children together. Each person, company, small business and enterprise involved with us, is an unsung hero in the work that we do!!! Thank you 😊
