Dear USET/USET SPF Family,
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will be holding a Tribal Consultation Call to follow up on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) COVID-19 Health Care Staff Vaccination Interim Final Rule (IFR). The CMS Interim Final Rule (IFR) was issued on November 4th. It would require that covered facilities develop a policy ensuring all eligible staff have received the first dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine or a one-dose COVID-19 vaccine prior to providing any care, treatment, or other services by certain deadlines (based on location).
All Tribes Call Consultation to follow up on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) COVID-19 Health Care Staff Vaccination Interim Final Rule Date: Thursday, February 10, 2022 2:00-3:00 PM Eastern Time Registration Link
CMS has asked that any new questions be submitted to TribalAffairs@cms.hhs.gov by close of business on February 2, 2022.
On the call, CMS will answer new and outstanding questions from its November 18, 2021 webinar, as well as explain how health facilities can utilize the CMS Quality, Certification and Oversight Reports (QCOR) website to search for CMS certification numbers (CCN) of facilities subject to the IFC. CMS has also prepared a list of Tribal health facilities that are subject to the mandate. CMS notes that while the agency believes this list is accurate, it encourages IHS and Tribal facilities to confirm the accuracy of their particular facility.
