Hello Friends!

Happy Friday! "Welcome back to "The Cre8tive Life!"- your weekly newsletter full of lifestyle tips, smiles, and cool things to check out!

This week I have been getting back into the life routine of seeking out new projects, going to a few networking events, and doing a little dancing (salsa and kizomba).

I randomly share pictures, video highlights, stories, and other random life musings on my personal instagram page (@e101) and official brand page (@thecre8tiveartisan) throughout the week as well- if you're interested, too.

Lasty, I wanted to send a virtual hug and "thank you" to those who reached out and told me that they had missed me during my mini sabbatical. It really touched my sappy and sentimental heart to know that I had been missed ::insert extra cheese here::

I hope that you have a great weekend, and upcoming week!

My weekly (random) compilation of some of my favorite "cre8tive" things that I want to share:

  • FAVORITE WORD: Chrysalism (noun) The peace of being indoors during a thunderstorm.

  • ADVICE:  "Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present."

  • MOOD MUSIC: This week's music mood has been inspired by Tarika Blue's 1977 song,  "Dreamflower." (If you're an Erykah Badu fan, you may notice a familiar sample from one of my favorite songs of hers, "Didn't Cha Know").

  • NEW FAVORITE FOOD: I recently discovered Vegan Rob's Cauliflower Puffs at a conference I attended, and have become obsessed. They are essentially a "guilt free" vegan cheese and plant based version of Cheese Puffs. And, they are DELICIOUS! (The Asparagus chips aren't too bad either!)

  • FEEL GOOD STORY: With sooooo many draining things happening in the world these days..., it's good to see/hear great little stories of humanity like THIS ONE

  • RANDOM LIFE TIP: If you're wanting to declutter all of the business cards you've collected over the years, you may find one THESE APPS to be helpful.

  • SOMETHING I WANT TO TRY:  It's no secret that I am a SUPERFAN of Gregory Porter (and love all that is in his amazing musical landscape). But, I was super excited to hear that he is has now officially also entered into the world of podcasts! He launched his first episode of "The Hang" this week, and I am really looking forward to checking it out this weekend!

The illustration above is a reflection of something that I have been thinking a lot about lately. In a world that seems to thrive and drive on the concept of "FOMO" (fear of missing out), it can be quite easy to get caught up in the rapture of "doing all the things." But, in doing all of that, it is also super important to remember the WHY you are doing what you are doing.

Earlier this week, I attended an interesting event that focused on the theory of living a directional versus destinational type of life. In a nutshell, it spoke on truly aiming to live your life in a way that is more guided around things that feel parallel and connected to your purpose/calling, versus chasing a destination that has been prescribed to you by others (whether that is regarding career/love/success/happiness/general relationships etc.). I found it to be quite fascinating, and in so much alignment with who I feel like I am at my core (and, why I cling to that descriptor of being a "socially antisocial introverted extrovert" so much). I have learned that in order for me to "show up" as my best self, I have to consistently take social breaks away and get back to a focus point of tapping into who I am, and my why. And, this idea of "JOMO" is something that I have definitely learned to embrace over the years.

Anyway, I thought I would share this little musing this week -hopefully you will get something out of it too!

This week I challenge you to begin asking yourself, "Is this directionally right for me?" when you find yourself in those situations that may draw you into living in the world of "FOMO."

Thank you to everyone that has filled out the survey! I will be sharing some upcoming events that I have been working on in the next couple of newsletters- so stay tuned for more info and invites!

For those who haven't filled out the survey, I can definitely still use your feedback. So, if you have not done so already, please take  5 minutes to fill out:

Thanks sooooooo much in advance for your time!
