As the days grow shorter and the weather turns cooler - and wetter! - we naturally head into hibernation mode; with cosy blankets, books by the fire, and steaming hot mugs of tea featuring front and center.
I absolutely love the month of November, not only is it a time to batten down the hatches and get cosy at home, it's also a wonderful time to express gratitude and focus on our blessings with thanksgiving celebrations an excellent reminder of this.
Like lots of people we’ve been doing some home improvements - it started with a new living room floor during lockdown and grew from there! It turns out there was a term for home renovations during the pandemic; it’s something interior designers and psychologists called ‘comfort decorating’. You can listen to NPR’s Life Kit podcast on ‘comfort decorating’ below and why lots of people went on a mission to make their homes a sanctuary and create spaces where they really wanted to spend time. Over the past year we’ve revamped our kitchen and made some cosy updates to our living space. ‘Home’ for me will always be one of the most important things in my life and giving it the attention and care it deserves really brings me so much joy. You can read more about how we made our home more cosy, more calming, and much more efficient below.

When I tell people I’m a KonMari consultant I’m often asked what exactly happens during a home organising session. So, here is a small introduction into what happens when you make the decision to lead a life that sparks joy and open the door to a KonMari consultant.
In our virtual coaching session, we will answer your questions and teach you how to apply the KonMari method to your home. This service - conducted over Zoom - is ideal for those who feel ready to take action but need a little help to get started. It is also perfect for those who have already started decluttering their home using the KonMari method but are stagnant and need expert advice in order to move forward.
Once a week we roast a chicken and have a comforting, family-friendly roast chicken meal. We've recently gotten into a weekly ritual of making soup out of the carcass and it's been so delicious and nourishing, especially at this time of year, that I wanted to share the recipe.
