Hi D,
As the days grow shorter and the weather turns cooler - and wetter! - we naturally head into hibernation mode; with cosy blankets, books by the fire, and steaming hot mugs of tea featuring front and center.
I absolutely love the month of November, not only is it a time to batten down the hatches and get cosy at home, it's also a wonderful time to express gratitude and focus on our blessings with thanksgiving celebrations an excellent reminder of this.
Like lots of people we’ve been doing some home improvements - it started with a new living room floor during lockdown and grew from there! It turns out there was a term for home renovations during the pandemic; it’s something interior designers and psychologists called ‘comfort decorating’. You can listen to NPR’s Life Kit podcast on ‘comfort decorating’ below and why lots of people went on a mission to make their homes a sanctuary and create spaces where they really wanted to spend time. Over the past year we’ve revamped our kitchen and made some cosy updates to our living space. ‘Home’ for me will always be one of the most important things in my life and giving it the attention and care it deserves really brings me so much joy. You can read more about how we made our home more cosy, more calming, and much more efficient below.
And as we find ourselves indoors more during the colder months, now is as good a time as any to do some home organising! If you’re curious about our KonMari service and want to know more we have two great articles detailing our in-home and virtual services. There are now 5 KonMari consultants in Ireland, bringing calm and joy to homes all over the country! If you’re ready to get your home organisied once and for all and want to find out more about our home organising services you can book a free 20-minute ‘no obligation’ call below.
Enjoy the issue,
