Our participation in the LEAP 2024 event in Riyadh showcased the innovative capabilities of 38 Pakistani IT companies, highlighting our commitment to global tech collaboration. The signing of a significant MoU at the event underscores our focus on strengthening business ties with Bahrain's IT association.
Our engagement in the Pak Saudi Tech Forum & Exhibition provided a platform for networking and knowledge-sharing, furthering our goal of fostering partnerships in the IT sector. Meetings with JICA and participation in webinars organized by PSEB reflect our dedication to boosting Pakistan's IT exports and addressing challenges faced by the FinTech and BPO sectors.
We are proud to announce our partnership with NAVTTC, aimed at enhancing skill development and innovation in Pakistan. This collaboration signifies our commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry, driving growth in the technology sector.
Our webinar series, "Game On Pakistan," and the publication of the Animation and Games Whitepaper demonstrate our efforts to promote knowledge-sharing and industry insights in the gaming and animation sectors.

Pak Saudi Tech Forum 2024
P@SHA hosted a Pak Saudi Tech Forum & Exhibition. The event was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, including DCO SG Deemah AlYahya, Ayesha Moriani (CEO, PSEB), Rizwan Shiekh (MOFA), and H.E Ahmed Farooq (Ambassador, Embassy of Pakistan), Abrar Mir (Chief Digital, Innovation & Financial Inclusion Officer,) and Naseer Akhtar (President, InfoTech), Khaled Al Ahli (AION).
HBL P@SHA Saudi Pak Tech Forum featured 4 insightful panel discussions led by industry experts, providing a comprehensive overview of key trends and challenges in the tech industry. The panel discussions were instrumental in establishing Partnerships, sharing best practices, and exploring innovative solutions, making the event a valuable networking opportunity for attendees.

LEAP 2024
In line with the overarching goal of promoting partnership and growth in the IT industry, P@SHA effectively organized a delegation to showcase leading Pakistani tech companies at the LEAP 2024 event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. P@SHA's involvement was made possible through the valued support of Tech Destination Pakistan, PSEB, HBL, MOITT, SIFC, TDAP, InfoTech, AION, and Revival Lab.
The delegation comprised 38 innovative IT companies from Pakistan, with each company sending delegates to present their advanced technologies and innovations at the event. This collective participation highlighted the immense potential of Pakistan's IT sector and its commitment to contributing to the global tech arena.
At LEAP 2024, P@SHA achieves a historic milestone with its largest MoU signing between Chairman Muhammad Zohaib Khan and Mr. Tareq Fakhroo, Director, BTech Group and Mr. Qays Zuhair from Worksmart for Events Management. This historic agreement underscores the significance, highlighting the focus on cooperation and bolstering business-to-business engagement with Bahrain's IT association.

Game Development Conference
From March 19 to 22, Pakistan's IT gaming industry showcased its talent at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2024, held in San Francisco. The Pakistan Pavilion, a collaborative effort between P@SHA and PSEB, was a hub of innovation and creativity, highlighting the country's growing presence in the global gaming arena. Attendees had the opportunity to explore cutting-edge games, technologies, and networking opportunities, further solidifying Pakistan's position as a key player in the international gaming community.

Meetings With JICA
On March 19, a meeting was held in Islamabad involving representatives from JICA, Ignite, and P@SHA to discuss strategies for boosting Pakistan's IT exports to Japan. P@SHA pledged its full support to JICA in this initiative, offering to collaborate closely with PSEB and IGNITE.
The following day, on March 20, another meeting took place at the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) office, with attendees from MoITT, PSEB, and P@SHA engaging with JICA. Chaired by Aisha Moriani, this meeting marked the third interaction between JICA and P@SHA, signifying a strong commitment to advancing Pakistan's IT sector.

Challenges for FinTechs in Pakistan & Proposed Interventions
P@SHA was invited to participate in a webinar arranged by PSEB titled, "Challenges for FinTechs in Pakistan & Proposed Interventions", with active participation from key industry leaders. During the session, various hurdles facing FinTechs in Pakistan were highlighted and discussed in detail. These challenges ranged from regulatory complexities and limited partnerships with traditional banks to low levels of digital and financial literacy among the population.
Industry experts also proposed several interventions aimed at addressing these challenges. Suggestions included incentivizing the adoption of digital financial services through incentive-based structures and subsidized rates, as well as promoting innovation and competition by allocating opportunities to FinTech companies. Additionally, there were calls for greater collaboration and data sharing among regulatory bodies, telcos, and utility companies to enhance the accessibility and effectiveness of digital payment solutions.

Challenges for BPOs in Pakistan & Proposed Interventions
P@SHA was invited to participate in a webinar arranged by PSEB titled, “Challenges for BPOs in Pakistan & Proposed Interventions” with active participation from industry leaders. The discussion revolved around strategies to expand business opportunities within the BPO sector in Pakistan. A key point raised was the need to address the prevailing perceptions surrounding BPOs in the country. It was suggested that concerted efforts, including participation in roadshows and trade marketing initiatives at the governmental level, are essential to alter these perceptions positively. Third-party alliances were proposed to aid in perception management and enhance the industry's image. Tax incentives were proposed for attracting and retaining BPO businesses.

Meeting with IT Minister
On 26th March Chairman Mr. Zohaib Khan along with Secretary General Nadeem Malik, Vice Chairman Khurram Rahat, CEC member Mohsin Ali, and Policy Manager, Laraib Farhat met with the newly appointed Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja.
The discussions primarily focused on creating an environment conducive to the smooth functioning of IT businesses, with an emphasis on further enhancing the sector's already substantial contribution to the nation's trade surpluses. P@SHA reiterated its unshaken dedication to actively advise the incumbent government on pivotal policy and regulatory issues concerning the IT sector. In a significant recognition of P@SHA's influential position within the industry, the Minister acknowledged its pivotal role as the voice of the IT sector and lauded its potential to significantly boost Pakistan's IT landscape.

P@SHA’s participation in Industry Advisory Board Meetings held at universities
P@SHA actively participated in Industry Advisory board meetings at multiple universities including Air University and Military College of Signals. These meetings are held annually or bi-annually to take industry’s feedback on Curriculum, FYPs, and Industrial exposure of students through internships among other things.

Industry Consultation Sessions with NAVTTC for their Latest EOI
P@SHA coordinated with the industry to arrange two industry consultation sessions in Islamabad and Lahore, on March 25 and 29, 2024. Around 40 to 50 people attended the sessions in both cities collectively. ED NAVTTC explained the process of submitting proposals and the evaluation process for the interested companies and took their feedback for the implementation.

MOU Signing with NAVTTC
On March 26th, P@SHA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with NAVTTC. SG Nadeem A Malik signed it in the presence of Chairman P@SHA Muhammad Zohaib Khan and Chairperson Gulmina Bilal. This collaborative agreement emphasizes cooperation in Skill Development Programs, Industry-Academia Linkages, Curriculum Development, and Review, as well as capacity-building initiatives. This partnership presents an opportunity for NAVTTC to offer high-quality training programs, fostering skill development and innovation. By combining the expertise of both P@SHA and NAVTTC, this collaboration can create a conducive environment for bridging the gap between academia and industry and driving sustainable growth in the technology sector.

Webinar : Game on Pakistan - Episode 1
P@SHA conducted the premiere episode of the "Game On Pakistan '' webinar series on the 25th of March! The topic of discussion was "Maximize Your Revenue: Proven Mobile Game Monetization Strategies" moderated by Fasieh Mehta from Quixel/Epic Games. We were honored to have our esteemed guest speakers for this episode: Syed Haris Izhar: Director, The Game Storm Studios (Pvt.) Ltd. and Gulfam Asghar: CEO, Sablo Studio. Out of 132 registrations, 74 participants joined and stayed through the duration of the webinar.

P@SHA published the Animation and Games Whitepaper which offers a thorough exploration of insights and discussions stemming from the HBL P@SHA ICT Awards 2023 policy roundtable, dissecting the “Past, Present, and Future of Pakistan's Games and Animations industry”. Encompassing the perspectives of 87 industry leaders and unveiling highlights from the event, the paper takes a closer look at the launch of the AG Ecosystem Report, providing a comprehensive overview of the industry's current landscape and prospects.
