Dear USET/USET SPF Family,
The Indian Health Service (IHS) has announced a series of four Tribal consultation and urban confer sessions to be held over the course of 2023 on the Health Information Technology (HIT) Modernization Program.
During these sessions, IHS will provide updates on milestones reached and program accomplishments, and will seek feedback from Tribal Nations on change readiness, ways the IHS can support organizations and individuals, and how facilities can prepare for electronic health record modernization. Each session will focus on different topics.
The consultations will be held on the following dates:
- Health Information Technology Modernization Preparing for Change
- Health Information Technology Modernization Resources
- Health Information Technology Modernization Leaders Engaging in Governance
- Health Information Technology Modernization The Path Forward
IHS will accept written comments on each topic for 30 days following each session. Written comments may be emailed to consultation@ihs.gov with the subject line “Health IT Modernization.” More information can be found in the Dear Tribal Leader Letter.
