UPM Made the Highest Leap in the Country in World Best University Rankings

Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) made the highest leap of all other universities in the country by making a 43 jump in the QS World University Rankings 2020.

Universiti Malaya was ranked first in the country at the 70th spot (up 17 places), followed by Universiti Putra Malaysia at the 159th spot (up 43 places), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia ranked 160th (up 24 places), Universiti Sains Malaysia ranked 165th (up 42 places) dan Universiti Teknologi Malaysia ranked 217th (up 11 places).

UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datin Paduka Dato’ Dr. Aini Ideris, said the jump has moved UPM to the 159th spot of the world’s best universities and become the second best university in the country. Read more

Wound Healing Innovation from Bitter Gourd and Rotten Starfruit

UPM researchers succeeded in producing ‘Medicated Wound Dressing’, a wound healing product from bitter gourd and rotten starfruit, a more effective and appropriate wound healing method, especially for diabetic patients. Read more

Breaking Fast and Tarawih Prayers with His Royal Chancellor

His Majesty, the Sultan of Selangor, presented the contribution in conjunction with the Breaking Fast event and Tarawih Prayer with about 1,000 UPM and community members at UPM Mosque. Read more


TRACE @ Daerah Kuching, Sarawak

KUCHING, 25 June 2019 -  Tracing Alumni for Collaboration & Engagement (TRACE) in Sarawak was first introduced in 2016 and the program continues every year since it has been very well received from the Land of the Hornbills. TRACE @ District Kuching Sarawak started on 25th of June and the six (6) days program covered local agencies such as Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia Sarawak, Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia Headquarters, Vocational College Kuching, Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation, District Education Office Kuching, Department of Veterinary Services Sarawak, Mara Skills Institute Kuching, and Department of Environment Sarawak. Read more

Mawaddah Ramadan helps UPM asnaf students

SERDANG, 15 May 2019 – Alumni Centre successfully organised Mawaddah Ramadan programme in conjunction with Iftar Mega Putra 2019 that will be held at the Dewan Besar, PKKSSAAS, UPM. The project provided iftar meal to fasting students (asnaf) which 600 packs chicken rice were distributed to students. Read more

Tautan Mahabbah in conjuction with UPM Alumni Day Celebration 2019

SERDANG, 26 April – Alumni Centre in collaboration with University Islamic Centre, UPM Alumni Association and Centre for Management of Waqf, Zakat and Endowment (WAZAN) has organised Tautan Mahabbah in conjunction with UPM Alumni Day 21 May on Karnival Ambang Ramadan 2019 week at 7 pm, UPM Mosque. TRACE Bridges-Link @ Daerah Zon Barat

PERAK, 22 April 2019 – Alumni Centre UPM continues its program calendar called TRACE Bridges-Link @ District (TAD) West Zone to several districts in Perak namely Ipoh, Kuala Kangsar and Gerik. The five (5) days program is intended to strengthen alumni network, expertise contribution and to deliver alumni awareness in supporting Putra Global 200 in line with UPM aspiration to be in 200 world best universities in the year 2020. TRACE Bridges-Link @ Daerah Zon Timur

PAHANG, 12 April 2019 – Tracing Alumni @ District moved to the Eastern Zone of Peninsular Malaysia and covered the district of Pekan, Maran, Rompin and Kuantan.  Among the agencies and companies traced are Juasseh Vocational College, Rompin District Education Office, Kuantan Vocational College, Kuantan District Education Office, Kuantan Department of Veterinary Services, Pekan District Education Office, Chenor Agriculture Vocational College and Maran District Education Office.

SERDANG, 10 April 2019 - Yayasan Pak Rashid Public Lecture organised by UPM Pak Rashid Foundation (YPR) in collaboration with UPM Alumni Centre (ACUPM) was held on 10 April 2019 at Radin Umar Auditorium, Engineering Faculty, UPM. The lecture was presented by prominent alumni YBhg. Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dr. Mohd Zakri Abdul Hamid alumni class of 1969 with inspiring title of “A Kampong Boy’s Experience in Scalling Global Heights”.
