In a year defined by triumph and transition, Florida State University welcomed its 16th president, said goodbye to a legendary football coach and returned to normal operations after months of disruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021.

Clark begins tenure as university provost

Jim Clark begins his tenure today as Florida State University's provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs. Clark previously served as professor and dean of FSU's College of Social Work. He succeeds Sally McRorie, who is returning to the faculty after seven years in the role. Clark, selected by President Richard McCullough, was one of three finalists chosen by the 20-member Provost Selection Advisory Committee following an internal selection process. Read more ...

Documentary inspired by FSU professor’s research to make national premiere on PBS

A documentary telling the story of Fannie Lou Hamer will make its national debut on PBS thanks to the contributions of a Florida State University professor, alumni and students. “Fannie Lou Hamer’s America” will launch the landmark 10th season of America ReFramed with a special presentation on PBS at 9 p.m. ET Tuesday, Feb. 22.
