Ink changeovers in packaging printing matter more than many converters realise. Even seemingly simple changes, like sourcing the same ink type from a different supplier, can introduce variations in viscosity, colour strength and flow behaviour. This means recalibration of the dispenser is required, to maintain consistent results.
More complex transitions, such as moving to low migration inks, may necessitate hardware modifications or specialist support.

GSE launches Extended life program at Remanufacturing Day
We are introducing our new GSE Extended life program at Remanufacturing Day on 18 June in Naarden, marking an important step in demonstrating our leadership in circular manufacturing.
The Extended life program enables customers to maximise value and reduce long-term environmental impact of their installed ink dispensing systems, through a wide range of services. These include refurbishments, relocations, ink changeovers, software and hardware upgrades, and component exchanges.
At the event (presented in Dutch), there will be round-table discussions on all aspects of remanufacturing, including design, digital product passports and adding value from refurbished hardware. GSE will moderate a talk on data requirements.
Visitors will also gain first-hand insight into how GSE supports long-term system evolution. A fully refurbished Colorsat Compact – first installed more than 20 years ago – will be on display.
