The Stelladaur Series The Portal Imagine. Believe. Discover. January 2021 Edition
I have several favorite authors—Madeleine L’Engle is one of my top five. In her insightful and inspiring book titled, Walking on Water - Reflections on Faith & Art, she poses this challenge: “It might be a good idea if we practiced believing six impossible things every morning before breakfast, for we are called on to believe what to many people is impossible.” Her invitation mirrors the heart, soul and purpose of The Portal, which is simply stated in my tagline: Imagine. Believe. Discover.Thank you for being a part of this amazing journey to see beyond the obvious and explore beyond limitations. What six impossible things will you believe today?

Most authors don’t love being on social media. I’m no different. Believe it or not, I tend to be shy about my writing accomplishments, and I prefer privacy in my daily life. Frankly, I’d rather be writing an actual book than posting on Facebook or the likes. Nevertheless, authors must be social-media savvy if they want to connect and engage with their readers, which I do.
Here are a few links where you can follow me. (Disclaimer: I’m just re-entering GoodReads platform after being inactive for several years, so it may take me a bit of time to get up to speed again.)
If you haven’t yet explored my FREE Discovery Guide for Book 1, Finding Tir Na Nog here is a brief overview of what to expect:
The Discovery Guide provides a rewarding avenue to pursue creativity, self-discovery, and imagination. It includes several thought-provoking Questions and hands-on creative Discoveries for each chapter of the novel. You may want to design and create your own Stelladaur journal to record answers, ideas and thoughts. Questions and Discoveries may be answered individually or in discussion groups and book clubs. We also recommend using Zoom, or another online meeting platform, to connect with other Stelladaur readers and explore the novel together. Individually or with a group, you will really get to know the characters and discover secrets of the Stelladaur!
For multitudinous reasons, we are all glad 2020 is behind us! Now, every day of this year, we each have the opportunity—and the responsibility—to create something new and something better for ourselves, our loved ones, for others and the world. Perhaps we can create connections with others more purposefully. Hopefully, we will choose gratitude more consistently. Certainly we can experience life more graciously, and with more love and compassion.
This month’s Stelladaur quote, taken from Finding Tir Na Nog, speaks to this perspective. In this scene, Reilly and Norah have gone through another portal to a place called Bozka, which means Divine Gift of Love, where a wise young boy named Aka-ula enlightens them:
“Every time a person extends love and forgiveness to another—no matter how insignificant they suppose it may be—the collective consciousness of the Earth is increased. A bit of the darkness is dispelled by the illuminated light of love. At that moment, all life on Earth is extended,” said Aka-ula. “But the evil Spell of Darkness will only be permanently broken when the Divine Gift is realized by all.”
Larry and I recently enjoyed three delightful days in the quaint Bavarian town of Leavenworth, Washington with one of sisters and her family. There is something truly magical about visiting an Arctic Reindeer farm and meeting Comet, Cupid, Blitzen, Sven and a dozen more of the herd. I fell in love with those fury creatures! I imagine it wouldn’t be any more wonderful to visit the North Pole itself! Enjoying a sleigh ride as it snowed was serene and unforgettable. Eating brats with sauerkraut, sledding, a snow hike, playing board games for hours, exploring specialty shops, cupping my hands around a mug of hot chocolate, laughing with family, and slowly driving through a snowstorm to return home. It was one of those rare occasions when time seemed to stand still for three glorious days. I’m convinced this phenomenon occurs whenever we mindfully, joyfully, and gratefully embrace each moment. This is how to live beyond the portal and transport into another world. We ought to do this every day.
