🕹️ Case Study: Rethinking Entrepreneurship Education through Gamification

How can entrepreneurship education become more inclusive, experiential, and accessible? The “Playground for Entrepreneurs” learning tool developed in the Netherlands introduces a gamified learning approach that helps participants explore ideas, exchange meaningful feedback, and build confidence in early-stage venture development.

Used in higher education, incubators, and community programmes worldwide, the initiative combines a board game format with a developing AI-powered platform to foster reflection, teamwork, and actionable insight, supporting scalable and sustainable innovation aligned with the HEInnovate framework.

📚 User Story: Building Innovation Capability through the DISCO Project

How can universities strengthen innovation capacity across borders? Through the EIT-funded DISCO project, institutions from Poland, Switzerland, and Ukraine used HEInnovate as a shared reflection and action-planning tool to guide collaboration in a complex and rapidly changing environment.

By combining self-assessment, peer learning, and practical experimentation, the consortium aligned actions with institutional needs, strengthened entrepreneurship support and international cooperation, and shifted from isolated initiatives to long-term innovation capability building.

Using HEInnovate to Shape an Innovation Strategy at UTS in Sydney

The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Collaborative shares how they used the HEInnovate self-assessment and 56 Action Cards to run a series of cross-institutional workshops and develop a structured Innovation Strategy. 

By combining collective reflection, immersive facilitation tools, and prioritisation exercises, the process helped align leadership, identify quick wins, and build a coordinated, university-wide approach to innovation.
