We’ve certainly been feeling the weather at PiP’s, from gloriously sunny days, to snow, ice and wind and rain! It’s been wonderful to warm up dog walkers and play park users with our delicious hot chocolate and mochas, toasties, soups and cooked breakfasts throughout. We have moved to Winter opening times which means that we will be closed on Mondays but still open from Tuesday to Sunday inclusive serving satisfying breakfasts, lovely lunches and all the bits in between including pastries, cakes, waffles and a few doggie treats too! Look out for our Christmas opening times in the next few weeks; we will look forward to seeing you all over the festive period so come and say hello after your wintery walks!

We can seat up to 20 comfortably, we also have 8 brand new comfy chairs if you have a long meeting to sit through!

Within the room there is a WIFI enabled TV for presentations and a small kitchenette area for refreshments; we can also provide self-serve teas & coffees, breakfasts, lunches, afternoon teas and we have a choice of buffets too. You may remember that last year, we had a range of beautiful Christmas cards for sale here at PiP thanks to lovely art work donated by members of Art in Poundbury, with proceeds going to The Talk About Trust. We are doing the same this year so please do pop in and buy some at the bargain price of 5 for £3!

We are also selling Rotary Raffle tickets again this year. Pop in and buy a ticket or book to be in with the chance of winning up to £500...perfect for all those Christmas treats! Every penny raised supports our work across Dorset in equipping children and young people with the knowledge, skills and resilience to make safer choices around vaping, cannabis, alcohol and other substances in fun and engaging ways.

Since September we have hosted two Supper Clubs, the first of which was Rosemary’s final evening with us before she retires to spend more time with her family. So many thanks to Rosemary for all her time and support at PiPs, it’s been greatly appreciated. We then held a French evening in October which was another success – this time under the helm of Debbie Daley, from The Olde Tea House who did a fantastic job of creating culinary delights for everyone to enjoy. Our final Supper Club before Christmas is an Indian Night on Friday 29^th November, if you would like to reserve the final few places then please do email kerry@pipspoundbury.com or call 01305 259142. Look out for the next Supper Club date in the New Year!

Our next Supper Club will be on Thursday 14^th December from 10am – 12pm. If you know of anyone who would enjoy some friendly company, a free cup of tea or coffee and delicious cake, please do tell them about our wonderful group. Everyone over the age of 65 is welcome and Fiona, our exceptionally kind volunteer, is always there to greet newcomers and help them feel right at home.

At the end of the Summer, we had to say goodbye to Sandra Scott as she takes on a new role. Sandra has been such an amazing support to the children and parents not only at Damers school but also here at PiPs with our After School Art Club and Kids Clubs throughout the year. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and her commitment was inspiring; we really hope that she will be back with us at our Kids Club at some point in the future!

Since starting back in September, we have been very lucky to have been joined by Lizzie Mehta, who brings with her a wealth of imagination and artistic knowledge, along with our trusty leader Lesley Goldsach. They have created a calm and relaxing atmosphere and the children produce some beautiful pieces of art (and parents too if they would like to join in!) – all in one hour! No art experience is necessary so why not come and give it a try - it's FREE for everyone. So many thanks to Art in Poundbury who have continued to fund this event, we are extremely lucky to have such supportive groups in Poundbury and the local area.

Need help with computers or your phone?

Digital Champions currently offer a drop-in service within the Community Room for anyone who may need support with operating their smart phone, laptop or iPad. Perhaps you would like to feel more confident using your device or maybe look at using new apps or doing your banking online. Bob, our Digital Volunteer pops in every Thursday from 2pm – 4pm, please do come and see him!

Our ever-popular Kids Club will be back during the Christmas Holidays on Thursday 2^nd January from 10am – 2pm! After all the festive activities we will be offering some indoor crafts and games, along with some outdoor fun too – we’re hoping for snow! We are currently fully booked but if you would like to go on our cancellation list please do drop Kerry a line.
