THE HABITAT ON A WING VIRTUAL TOUR Thursday June 25th 8.30pm

The Habitat’s third virtual tour is a live event where you are invited to look to the sky for an accessible and enjoyable introduction to the delightful birdlife that can be enjoyed in our favourite backyard, Penang Hill!

Avid birders Dave Bakewell and Habitat Naturalist Amirul Hadi, will be your hosts as you become better acquainted with charming sunbirds and spiderhunters, melodious songbirds and industrious woodpeckers, and finally, formidable birds of prey.

UNCUT, LIVE FROM THE BLUE ROOM, FILM Saturday 27th June 8pm

Joe Sidek, former director of the George Town festival, chats with four leading luminaries from the world of film, about their experiences during lockdown:Joining him is Cannes winner and Academy Award nominee Rithy Panh (director of S21, The Missing Picture), hit actress Tan Kheng Hua (Crazy Rich Asians, The Garden of Evening Mists, Phua Chu Kang (TV series) ) and Malaysia's very own critically acclaimed director Dain Said. BAMBOO ORCHID CREATION WORKSHOPS Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th June 4.30pm-6pm

Two more of a series of nine free online workshops by local artists via zoom. One subject, nine media. Learn to create a bamboo orchid with Nasir Nadzir in pastels on Saturday 27th, and in acrylics with ThaiPing Wong on Sunday 28th. GLOBAL PRIDE 24 HOUR LIVESTREAM Starts Saturday 27th June 1pm Penang Time

The Global Pride event was organised after the cancellation of Pride marches in cities around the world, including the fiftieth anniversaries of Pride in San Francisco and Los Angeles. A global network of Pride organisations is going online for a worldwide celebration of the diverse LGBTQ+ community. Millions of people are expected to join the event from home, with subtitles provided in multiple languages. For the full line up of acts and the livestream go to the website here.

WICKED MUSIC PEOPLE LIVE CONCERT Saturday 27th June 9pm

KL’s Wicked Music People (WMP) is known for performing vocal and instrumental music of the late Renaissance and the Baroque, using period instruments. This live concert in KL will be live streamed free of charge on Youtube here and Facebook here. The programme will featuring some of their "Best Ofs" from key performances in the past three years, by Monteverdi, Vivaldi, and Handel, and The Beatles, played on Baroque instruments.

BELANG SAVE THE TIGER EXHIBITION, Penang State Art Gallery, Until June 28th 2020

BELANG (Save Our Malayan Tiger 2020) is a visual arts exhibition held to create public awareness on the Malayan Tiger, which is on the brink of extinction. The gallery at Penang State Art Gallery, Dewan Sri Pinang, is now open from Saturday to Tuesday, 10am to 4pm. You can also arrange a private tour with the curator, Ivan Gabriel, for additional insights on the artworks and their artists by emailing him here.
