Bath Restaurant Week to kick off with the Waiters’ Race! 16 March
Bath Restaurant Week is back for 2026 and will be starting with a bang on Monday 16 March with The Waiters’ Race!
This high-energy contest sees local waitstaff pacing through Bath’s historic Royal Crescent, trays in hand, balancing glasses and plates with skill, speed, and a dash of flair. Cheered on by lively crowds, the race is more than just a spectacle—it’s a celebration of the people who bring Bath’s hospitality scene to life every day.
This year’s Bath Restaurant Week teams are gearing up to speed walk, swap, and relay their way across the iconic Royal Crescent — all in the name of fun, friendly rivalry, and a brilliant cause. Every team is raising money for Hospitality Action, supporting the people who keep our hospitality industry thriving.
Once the race concludes, Bath Restaurant Week unfolds across the city, with cosy cafés to elegant eateries and buzzing bars, showcasing their best bites, sips, and specials. Diners can explore exclusive offerings via the Bath Restaurant Week website, where participating venues will list everything from tasting menus and signature cocktails to lunchtime deals and brand-new dishes.

Irish Stew
St Patrick’s Day falls on Tuesday 17 March; what better time to indulge in one of the Emerald Isle’s most famous, flavoursome exports?
Making the stew the day before you plan to eat really does make a difference to the end result: the flavours develop, and any leftover fat that collects on the top can be skimmed off and discarded.

LOVE
LOVE magazine disappeared from the newsstands in 2020, not long after the departure of its creative force, Katie Grand. It became US-based and went digital before closing in 2024. If you know it, you’ll recall it was edgy, relatively inexpensive and physically enormous. It returned in print late last year as a Paris-based project with a new editorial team heralding its arrival with the usual, generic new era announcements (‘a new kind of platform’, ‘sparking new conversations’, ‘without borders’ etc. etc.) The second relaunched issue is out this week with a more journalistic approach and a distinctly European cultural axis that does manage to push beyond the usual places that fashion magazines like to graze. Definitely worth a look, even at almost three times the cover price of your old LOVE.

Paragon 50 at Bath Abbey, 21 March
An atmospheric promenade concert featuring 400 years of choral music and a world premiere.
In a flat opposite The Paragon a small group of friends began meeting up to sing. It was 1976. Fifty years on from that small beginning we are a thriving and successful chamber choir and we are gearing up to celebrate our birthday in style.
Join the Paragon Singers on Saturday March 21st when they shall be in Bath Abbey for a promenade concert featuring gems from their extensive repertoire. You will have the spine-tingling opportunity to follow the singers around the space as they sing from different corners of the abbey. Even more memorably you might choose to sit where you like and just absorb the experience from there.
The concert will last approximately 75 minutes without an interval and a programme with text and translations is included with your ticket.
You’re warmly welcomed to stay afterwards to enjoy a glass of something in the Abbey.

The first floor provides the principle character bedroom with the benefit of an ensuite bathroom, a further 3 bedrooms and family shower-room.
Externally, the Cotswold stone walled garden is idyllic, being predominantly laid to lawn with a paved seating area, mature trees, shrubs and planting, providing a special private space in the heart of the village with beautiful aspects of St. James’s bell-tower.

To the front of the house, the gravelled driveway provides parking for 2/3 vehicles and leads to the garage (part of the detached stone building/barn) with double opening wooden doors accessing the double garage, offering windows and pedestrian doors to allow a light space and other access points. To the rear of the barn and accessed from the rear garden, is a stone staircase rising to versatile, ancillary living space including a bathroom, perfect for use as a Studio, 5th bedroom or home office. The overall building, subject to local consents, planning and investment etc. could make a fabulous separate independent cottage.
